Why I Love Mat Pilates (and Why Your Body Will Too)

Mat Pilates is one of those workouts that doesn’t always look intense—but if you’ve taken a class, you know it works in a completely different way.

What I love most about mat Pilates is how it focuses on the smaller, deeper muscles that support your body every day. It’s not about big, fast movements—it’s about control, alignment, and building strength from the inside out.

In my classes, we slow things down and really pay attention to how we move. You’ll feel your core working (in a good way), but also your hips, glutes, and posture muscles—the ones that help you stand taller and move better in daily life.

Another benefit is that it’s low impact, making it accessible for so many people. Whether you’re new to fitness or just looking for something that feels supportive but still effective, mat Pilates meets you where you are.

And while you’ll definitely feel stronger, many people also leave class feeling more connected to their body. There’s something about moving with intention and control that helps quiet the noise and bring you back to yourself.

If you haven’t tried it yet, I’d love to have you in class. It might look simple—but it’s anything but.
